Who said something cannot come from nothing? Something cannot come out of nothing.
Something cannot come from nothing?
It is simple logic that all energy is only transferred and converted and not created. In the Bible, this is paraphrased in the term "the First and the Last". To open up, I'm Gnostic, I'm very confused about how nothing becomes into something. A beginning process itself can even be both.
Atheism doesn't explain anything, as it’s a label for those who have no belief in gods. By claiming God is necessary becuase "something cannot come from nothing", all you are doing is pushing the question back a step: Instead of "Who created the Universe", it's "Who created God'?
I understand that this discussion has been going on for years, I'd like to here the Atheist Redditors POV. If nothing contains something, then it cannot be nothing, as is the case with these theories. Nothing as a state can be filled as well as emptied.
The common Theist response to the big bang, as if gods/god coming out of the magic void beyond which no mortal eye may see, and spreading life and land into an empty space is really a much better alternative to an explanation of the universe that actually has basis in other theories/facts that we can observe in every day life?
He dwells in timelessness, that is, outside the physical restraints of space-time.
Something cannot come out of Nothing. Dear Rupert, I enjoyed watching your videos and thank you very much for your very clear explanation on the matters of self and Consciousness. Again simply said you are setting the process of direction to be only one motion, in one direction. Something Cannot Come From Nothing Both 'something,' 'nothing' and, therefore, 'everything' are illusions.
So isn't this a pretty poor argument for a Deity? Something cannot come from nothing? But to answer your question, He is eternal. Everything has to come from somewhere.
Anyway, saying something cannot come from nothing is a double standard if you are arguing for God, since if God could exist on his own, as in God just was, then why can't the environment required to create the universe, sort of thing. Then how did God, who is something, come from nothing? I understand the concept of the Big Bang, but I don't contain much knowledge about it. Genesis the start/beginning of something, the process of either filling, or a process emptying. God created (Hebrew word bara) the heavens and the earth out of nothing.
So what were you before you were given your name, you couldn't have been nothing as you are something... And please leave the "I was sperm" answers out, Thank You and Peace. Something cannot come from nothing. Only Presence is. If things cannot spontaneously erupt into existence, then how to explain God?
Energy cannot be created nor destroyed.
