6 Turn R to reach the first small group of Whispering Knights. Parking: There is limited parking in the lay-by on Rollright Road. After a furlong (220 yds/200m), at the crossroads, turn left (W) onto the road towards Long Compton and Little Rollright.

5 On reaching the road, turn left and visit the site of the Rollright Stones. Starting from Salford, a few miles from Chipping Norton, this 5.25 mile circular walk goes to the mysterious Rollright Stones returning through the hidden hamlet of Little Rollright - a Cotswold Conservation Board 'Seven Wonders of the Cotswolds' walk. Managed to park up in the layby next to the entrance. Acccess: The stones are located on Rollright Road along the Oxford/Warwickshire boundary between the A44 and A3400.

ABOUT THE WALK – grade: Moderate Route. Walk ahead along a grassy path and turn right at the next stile towards Brighthill Farm. Constructed from local oolitic limestone, the three monuments now known as the King's Men and the Whispering Knights in Oxfordshire and the King Stone in Warwickshire, are distinct in their design and purpose, and were built at different periods in late prehistory.
